Many different types of puzzles exist but one that is a favorite for many people is known as the word search. This type of puzzle is also called by other names, including the word seek, word find, mystery word puzzle and word sleuth. It involves a grid of letters and hidden inside the letters are words that are spelled horizontally, vertically or diagonally. In some puzzles, the word may be spelled backwards!
In most cases, there will be a list of words included and you will have to find all the words and circle them in the puzzle. It can be quite challenging, and on more than one occasion, these puzzles have stumped people to the point where they gave up. It’s not that the words weren’t there, it’s just that they were so cleverly hidden that they were difficult to find.
